Art Salzburg 2011 - The International Fine Art Fair during Salzburger Festspiele at Salzburg Residenz

In a city that Max Reinhardt elevated to the paragon of culture, the team of, which is already responsible for “Art Austria” (MuseumsQuartier) and the “Art Albertina” (Albertina) fairs, has now enhanced the “Salzburg World Fine Art Fair”, held over the last two years. The fair, which takes place at the same times as the Salzburg Festival, now has a new concept and is presented under the title “ART SALZBURG”.

The primary objective of the fair is to present top-quality works of art to an interested specialist audience in museum surroundings. Nationally and internationally renowned art dealers are satisfying this concept and will bring selected art treasures to Salzburg at great expense and personal involvement. ART SALZBURG will therefore present a concentration of artworks of various genres and epochs, from antiquity to the present day. ART SALZBURG is therefore not an antiquities fair in the traditional sense, but instead offers a focus on contemporary art. This approach aims to address new target groups of visitors and to flesh out the programme on offer.

ART SALZBURG presents itself as a new fair on expert foundations, which asserts a claim to top quality. On view are presentations and display walls as found in the best museums of the world, perfect lighting systems from Erco and a very clear layout with lots of space and light. Progressive exhibition construction also creates distance from the walls of the residence and thus achieves a significant increase in hanging surface.
